🐾 Evolution Dog Training Chicago – Policies & Practices At EDTC, everything we do is rooted in love, trust, and respect for dogs and their humans. These policies are here to ensure clarity, safety, and harmony in our work together. 🩺 Health & Safety To ensure the well-being of all dogs in our care—and to comply with legal and ethical standards—we require: • Up-to-date rabies vaccination • Active heartworm prevention • Flea and tick prevention These measures protect your dog, other dogs we work with, and the integrity of our practice. Dogs must meet these requirements before participating in training sessions, walks, or play dates. 🎓 Training Approach & Philosophy Training with EDTC means partnering in growth. Here’s what to expect: My approach is grounded in unconditional love. I will never label your dog as “bad”—there are no bad dogs. I use dog psychology, which includes respectful submission posture when appropriate. Submission may be used as a calm, nonviolent consequence, especially for behaviors that threaten safety (e.g., aggression or rudeness toward other dogs). Submission posture is instinctual; it is part of canine language, and all dogs understand it as a cue to calm all the way down. It is a highly nuanced tool, however, and should never be used without proper instruction. Every interaction is a training opportunity. Even casual walks include reinforcement of boundaries and communication. Formal training sessions involve more structure and planning. With your permission, I may occasionally invite your dog to a 1:1 play date with another trusted client dog. These outings offer physical exercise, mental stimulation, and valuable social learning. EDTC is now fully insured as a professional dog trainer, offering you peace of mind. Should your dog suffer an injury or medical emergency under my care, including during supervised play, I am covered to help with significant veterinary expenses. ☀️⛅️🌨️❄️ Inclement Weather In cases of rain (not drizzles), excessive cold or heat, or poor air quality, walks may be canceled (with the client’s permission) or shortened. Sessions and consultations may be rescheduled. If you have any questions or would like clarification on any of these points, I’m always here to talk. This journey is about growing together, as both dogs and humans 🐾 Warmly, Angela Verducci Evolution Dog Training Chicago
